StopParts’ mission is to deliver quality, revolutionary products to the automotive industry by delivering a product that is manufactured with the highest quality based on industry-proven standards. StopParts products meet or exceed OEM quality brake products for all foreign and domestic vehicles.
If a caliper body made of cast iron or aluminum is deeply scored rebuilding it should be out of the question Aluminum Calipers do not hold up well they are a challenge to rebuild and the ones that are rebuilt are the cause for high warranties.
In addition, it is hard to define how many times that used core has been remanufactured. Which significantly affects the form, fit, and function of the caliper. Remanufactured units could struggle to perform as new calipers due to the number of times it has been rebuilt.
As time and miles add up the remanufactured calipers experience pitting, cracks, excessive corrosion. and road and rotor damage, which require harsher measures in the remanufacturing process that move farther away from the OE form fit function. This leads to piston sticking, leaks, and not fitting as OE.

Remanufactured Process

1 CORE Selection

Run through containers to determine which CORES have the best chance to make it through the remanufacturing process.

2 Disassembly table

Used calipers undergo a strenuous process to get them disassembled to a bare caliper. This consists of a hammer, chisel, air gun, and torch. Brake calipers tend to get damaged during this process.

3 Ovens

Calipers are placed in ovens for 2-4 hours to remove paint, chemicals, and rubber. This is at temperatures 600-800. This can cause the metal to expand in a volume called thermal expansion.

4 Wheelabrator with
a Shot blast

Running through the Wheelabrator with shot blast is harsh on the caliper it can damage the piston bore, threads, and esthetic look.

5 Chemical bath to prep for powder coating or for shelf life rust preventative.

The chemical bath is harsh on the calipers it can prevent the Powder Coating not to adhere well. The rust preventative is only for shelf life many customers get confused and think it is for rust preventative for normal use.

Common issues with CORES

These are challenges every caliper remanufacture faces These get passed on to you or your customers. Which in turn causes premature caliper failure, repair come back and warranty.
